Meet the Team at Heal House: A Journey of Community and Wellness
It’s already been a year and a half since the Heal House has opened, a long-time dream well in motion. It’s a funny thing to think about the names for the Heal House we put on the table. Some of these include: Heal Haus, Rose Bloom Wellness House, and The White House. The word ‘Heal’ is actually a conjugation to the first two letters of my name HEather, and my sister ALissa and our dad came up with it years ago. His idea stuck, and the seeds of this project continued to sprout. Now we are a full house, all rooms rented with one room open for day rental use, and a wonderful team offering a diverse range of nourishing services.
One of the most beloved aspects of this project has been the opportunity to be in a community of practitioners. While our work is independent from each other, we are collaboratively part of the Heal House. And in a day and age when work can feel isolating as a solo practitioner, it’s a beautiful thing to have this space of overlap, shared vision and values, collaboration, and celebration.
So who are we?
My sister, Alissa, and Val are licensed massage therapists offering massage and bodywork with Body Ritual. They are so great at what they do; their rooms are outfitted with Ashiatsu bars that offer magical deep tissue massage. Combined with tui na, myofascial work, and deep relaxation techniques, these two high-vibration body workers really put their heart and soul into their work.
We also have Jennice with Waterways Wellness offering massage, prenatal, and craniosacral therapy, and she is particularly skilled at working on the nervous system. Jennice has an incredible practice of working to de-stress the body through the various modalities she’s trained in.
We have two estheticians at Heal House; Rebecca with Rebecca Treats Skin, and Cate with Cate Face. Cate Face was our first esthetician and she offers facials, including the DMK facial, lash lift, brow lamination, and tints. Rebecca has been in the esthetician world for twenty years. Her services include facials, dermaplaning, peels, nano infusions and brow and lash tints.
Then we have LashPDX upstairs with Katie, and she does lash extensions. Katie is truly the best in town. From clients who have cancer-related hair loss, gender-affirming treatments, folks of all ages, and people wanting natural or dramatic results – Katie has been doing it forever and delivers.
We have a couple acupuncturists; we have Sara Attar with Attar Acupuncture, who’s area of focus includes: mental and emotional health, pain relief, gynecology, sports medicine, and digestion. Kristin Miracle is our new acupuncturist, and she is the founder of Heart Bridge Medicinal Arts. Kristin uses an integrative approach to her work, emphasizing mind-body connection and client education to heal somatic symptoms.
Lastly, we have Sarann Benson with Sarann Facial Reflexology. Sara utilizes Facial Reflexology to heal body, mind and spirit. Reflexology works on the nervous system to optimize body options to help you feel and look good.
And of course, there’s yours truly. I feel so proud to share my work-home with this powerful, tender, creative, and dazzling group of healers and artists. Be sure to keep them in mind if you’re needing body-mind-spirit tending along with any upcoming treatments from me.
