IV Therapy in Portland

As I write, I’m watching one of the rare blankets of snow that cover Portland in the winter. While it’s been a pleasantly cozy afternoon, I’m reminded that we still remain susceptible to colds, flu, and other infections. To align with this season, today’s writing I share about one of my favorite and most nourishing services, IV Therapy.

What is IV Therapy?

In an IV therapy treatment, we hook a bag of electrolytes up and slowly drip it into the vein. This is typically given in a hospital setting however these treatments are gaining popularity as a supportive, out-patient, treatment. With IV administration, we don’t have to rely on digestion for absorption so the treatment is immediately absorbed and available for cellular use. In addition to electrolytes, we can add nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and amino acids.

Does IV Therapy Work?

While many of you are coming in to see me for Botox and various other aesthetic injectables to amplify our natural external beauty, I’d like to remind us all to tend to our internal health, too; one way to do this would be to treat yourself to the glowy hydration and nourishment of IV Therapy. This treatment protects the investment of any injectable service, leaving the outer layer of the skin appearing plump and dewy.

Where to get IV Therapy?

You can schedule for an IV treatment alone or add this onto an existing service. For example, if you add on to your Botox, we’ll get the drip set up then proceed with Botox as usual while you are receiving the IV benefits. Treat yourself to a bag of hydration or add in nutrients to support immunity, brain function, energy production, skin health, weight loss, or anti-aging. Which formula we choose will depend on our personal health goals. Feel free to bring a book, plug into a favorite podcast or album, sit back, relax, and enjoy the drip.

Why IV therapy is used?

IV therapy is commonly used to support those of us dealing with chronic disease. While I don’t specialize in treating specific pathology, I think it’s significant to consider how powerful IV Therapy is to treat our most delicate communities. This potent treatment can also be elected to be proactive in our regular preventative care.

What IV therapy is good for inflammation?

Hydration detoxifies; it helps our bodies fight off inflammation by flushing out toxins. When we add antioxidants like vitamin C to the mix, we quell unwanted oxidant exposure from our environment– pesticides, pollution, etc. IV Therapy can also provide immune-supporting nutrients to help fight off common colds. The drips allow us to intake higher dosages as compared to taking nutrients by mouth. For example, zinc and vitamin C can upset the stomach when taken orally; so, IV administration is a tool which can allow us to still get the benefits.

While we are investing in our external beauty, we must also nourish our internal landscapes, our roots and systems. Add on an IV Therapy to cultivate the kind of beauty that stems from the foundation of profound health.
