The Mini Lip Fill Treatment in Portland Oregon

New service alert!  I am proud to introduce the Mini Lip Fill treatment, the perfect service for first-timers, or someone who just wants a little.  The Mini Lip Fill is customized to each client’s goals and we can upgrade to the full syringe if you decide you want more within one month of your original treatment.  While the lips are sensitive, worry not, because I make sure you are comfortably numb before injections begin.

What is it?

The Mini Lip Fill is up to 0.5 cc’s of an FDA-approved, hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler.  HA is naturally found in the body, mostly in the eyes, joints, and heart, and its role is to cushion and lubricate (1).  When injected into the lips, HA looks and feels soft and natural.  While variable, most end up using the entire 0.5 cc of filler.

How much does it cost?

The Mini Lip Fill is currently $350.  Upgrade to the full syringe within 4 weeks of your original treatment, for an additional $300.  I’m a big fan of the rewards programs that accompany Juvederm and Restylane products and will make sure to stay on top of your points and earnings.

How long does it last?

HA filler is naturally broken down by your body and duration is dependent on your metabolism.  On average, the Mini Lip Fill typically lasts 3-4 months.  It is reasonable to gradually and subtly build to your aesthetic goals every few months with the Mini Lip Fill.

How long is my appointment?

The Mini Lip Fill takes about 45 minutes with about 15 minutes dedicated to numbing.

Does it hurt?

The lips are sensitive so I use a prescription-strength numbing cream.  This should get the area nice and numb for comfort.

How do I best prepare?

To minimize risk of bruising, it’s recommended to avoid blood thinning agents like ibuprofen, fish oil, and alcohol for three days before your injections.  For those prone to cold sores, you may consider starting a course of treatment.  Not sure what to do for cold sores?  Don’t hesitate to connect with me.

What is the down time?

Down time is variable between individuals.  Some walk out, ready to go, and others are bruised and swollen.  This depends on your individual physiology.  Most clients do swell a bit and generally, expect to be quite swollen the morning after.  This is normal and expected!  These HA fillers are water-loving, which is what makes them so good at plumping, so it’s very normal for your lips to experience swelling.  This swelling typically lasts a few days and up to two weeks after your injection.  After a week or so, the swelling is something that you notice, but most likely others will not.  Bruising can and does happen, especially if you are prone.  Stay hydrated and avoid the blood thinning agents (never stop a prescription without consulting your doc).  Homeopathic Arnica Montana can be used to help resolve the bruising.
