Hyperdiluted Radiesse in Portland Oregon

I’m excited to introduce hyperdiluted Radiesse into my practice. Radiesse is an injectable made from calcium hydroxyapatite and is a well known collagen stimulator. When we hyperdilute radiesse, it acts as a biostimulatory agent rather than a volumizing agent and works to improve skin quality and firmness in the face, neck, and body (1). My recent training with Dr. Shino Bay in Ft. Lauderdale focused on biostimulatory treatments, or treatments that stimulate YOUR OWN collagen and tissue growth. In the case here, when we inject hyperdiluted Radiesse into the skin, we promote the synthesis of collagen, elastin, and blood flow, resulting in long-term improvement in skin quality, elasticity, firmness, and tightening (2).

Over the years, I have learned through practice that the neck is an area that many would like to see improvement in. Every day there is one of us who asks what I have to tighten the neck, and to date I have recommended Botox for the nefertiti neck lift and/or a series of microneedling treatments. While these treatments do help, I am excited to add to my armamentarium with hyperdiute radiesse. When applied to the neck, the same promotion of collagen and elastin ensue leading to a tightening and improvement in elasticity.

As I mentioned in an earlier blog, my work with Shino Bay focused mainly on biostimulatory treatments, or treatments that stimulate your own collagen. I learned from Shino to apply Sculptra for deeper volumization, and hyperdiluted Radiesse for more superficial rejuvenation work.

Who is a good candidate for hyperdiluted Radiesse? Really anyone who wants to tighten their skin and improve overall quality. While this process is beneficial at any age, an optimal candidate will have signs associated with decreased collagen and elastin such as skin laxity.

You may be thinking that this sounds similar to a Skinvive treatment. While both skinvive and hyperdiluted radiessse are placed in the superficial layers of the skin, they have different mechanisms. Skinvive works to retain the skin’s hydration while hyperiluted radiesse promotes collagen and elastin production.

Hyperdiluted Radiesse is a procedure that is similar to other injection procedures. At your appointment we consult, take pictures, numb, and inject. Then, we follow up in a month and depending on the level of skin laxity and your individual goals, come up with a plan to either retreat or connect back on this in a year. The more skin laxity, the more treatments required for optimal outcomes. Generally though, you can plan on annual treatment. There is zero down time for this treatment, however  bruising may occur so it is advisable to plan around two weeks out for important social events.

Hyperdiluted Radiesse can be applied to the face, neck, butt, knees, and elbows– anywhere where you would like to increase the collagen of the skin. If you’re curious about how this treatment may benefit you, come in for a consultation and we can discuss options.

Love always,
