Dr. Heather focuses her medical practice on a patient-centered approach. As a functional medicine provider, she addresses the entire person and not just an isolated set of symptoms. She spends time with her patients, listening to their stories and assessing the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that influence health and disease. As both an acupuncturist and naturopathic physician, Dr. Heather uniquely combines ancient Chinese practices with modern biomedical sciences. She is currently accepting new patients and accepts OHP. What is Functional Medicine?
Functional Medicine addresses the underlying cause of disease, so that you can get well and stay well. Instead of focusing on the disease or an isolated set of symptoms, we shift the focus to the individual in front of us and practice a more patient-centered approach. An initial intake can take up to 90 minutes where a thorough history is taken looking at the interactions between genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and chronic disease.
